MEDIA STATEMENT
In response to the recent news that Allegiant Airlines will expand service to include St Louis and Portsmouth, Brad Dean, president and CEO of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, issued the following statement:
"This is great news! The addition of new nonstop service ensures that more first-time visitors have easy and affordable access to our 60 miles of beautiful beaches and wealth of activities and entertainment beyond the beach. We already see many visitors from Dayton, so adding affordable service from yet another Ohio market opens up even greater access for families from that area. Knowing that Allegiant tends to start small and then expand service to other seasons, the new nonstop service to and from Portsmouth and St. Louis increases the potential for expansion even more. Our partnership with Allegiant remains strong and continues to play a significant role in moving us closer to achieving our goal to become a more year-round destination."
