TRIP Presents Myrtle Beach Area Transportation Report
Who: TRIP, South Carolina Fix Our Roads (SCFOR) Coalition, Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce
What: Legislation has been passed in the South Carolina House and is currently being debated in the Senate that addresses funding for road and bridge maintenance in the state. This issue ranks high on the list of priorities for Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce and the business community. This also directly impacts local residents and tourists. On March 21, TRIP, a national transportation research group, will present a study that analyzes the cost of poorly maintained infrastructure and how it affects residents of the Myrtle Beach area. The results of this study are specific to our area. Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce did not pay for the study, however, because of the chamber’s interest in sustainable infrastructure funding, TRIP and the South Carolina Fix Our Roads (SCFOR) Coalition offered to review the study with the chamber’s board of directors.
